Adams screwing the loft beds together.

There will be 2 beds end to end with a space in the center to climb up. The whole thing will be painted chocolate brown when they finish.

Adams and Will work well together. The right hand wall is the old color of the room...flourescent lime..ugh..with bright red shelving. All the shelving and trim is now chocolate brown with blue walls and a paler blue ceiling. That green wall you see will be covered in a sheath of galvinized roofing metal by the end of the week.


Ductwork will be enclosed in sheetrock (see below)

These used to be BRIGHT red with painted over hinges and pulls. I took the doors off and filled the holes so we could update the hardware. We put down the awesome tile when we first moved into the house.

We set a goal to re-work the playroom so that Adams could have his own room by the end of the summer and everything is really coming along! It has been a family affair with everyone helping to paint and build the various aspects of the room...the boys even helped rewire a new lighting system and all the outlets in the room(7)! Adams is excited to have his own space straight out of Pottery Barn. These were just a few shots of the work and laborers.

I forgot to mention that this house was built during the Cuban missile crisis and Adams' new room is actually a certified bomb shelter...thus the concrete block walls and need for good lighting (there are no windows). We've even used this room a few times during tornadoes. I think it will be a cozt little retreat when we're done...and a much better use of the space!
