I can't even begin to express what a transformation has begun in our Grady. I worried (like mama's do) that he would feel misplaced or lost when the new baby came home.....OH NO! This boy has come completely out of his shell and taken to the Big Brother role in a HUGE way. I am so amazed at how much he is stepping out of his comfort zone and trying new things. When the "Gatorade" first came home, he was a stoic, quiet, reserved little old man. He didn't give an inch when anyone tried to play with him or make friends. Because he rarely spoke--his speech is slightly delayed but we are seeing him make big strides lately as he pipes up and talks all the time...even daring to repeat harder words we are teaching him to say. That's huge for a boy who refused to even try lest he fail just a few months ago. Many friends mention to us that they got a smile from Grady, or Grady gave them 5, etc. People noticed the old Grady but the new Grady is touching people in big ways.
`
And sweet! This is the most obedient, trustworthy boy you will ever meet. He is all about justice and taking care of his friends. He regularly comes home from school with an extra treat or accolade for being such a big helper. He never has to be asked to lend a hand.
`
Physically- Grady has been completely healed of his clubbed feet...in large part due to his fantastic team of doctors in Birmingham--but also thanks to a graceful God who cares about even the smallest little people. He has begun to run, hop, jump, and leap...just a year ago- he could barely walk. I am in awe and so very thankful for this boy.
