We were told by our travel coordinator (who lives in Guangzhou, China) that we could get another update and ask some questions so even though we'd just gotten new pictures and measurements--I jumped on the chance to ask some questions. And even got more pictures in the bargain.
I am really amazed at how much more information we have with this adoption than we did with the last one. There are still MANY unanswered questions and information we will never have but it's nice to know a little about our little boy as we get ready to meet him.
Questions we sent the orphanage director:
1. What does he weigh? (this would help us buy the right size clothes for him)
height 83cm,weight 26.8P,,head 46.5cm,chest 47.5cm,feet 10.5cm(better to prepare soft bottom of shoes)
2. Does he drink from a sippy cup or a bottle or a regular cup?
a regular cup
3. Is he potty trained or still wear diapers? (so we know to bring diapers or underwear for him)
potty training
4. Are his vaccinations up to date? If not- can the orphanage give him the shots he needs so that we do not have to traumatize him with shots AND meeting his new parents all in the same week?
the orphanage said they gave him shots he needs on time.
5. Has he been tested for TB? If not- can the orphanage test him so we will not have to be held up in Guangzhou, unable to take him home?
No.
6. What name does his foster family call him?
"Ao Zai"(cantonese)
7. We would love to bring a gift for the foster family- can you find out if they have any needs? and their names? no answer
8. Will the orphanage take Zhen Ao back to the orphanage to prepare him for our arrival OR will he leave his foster family and come straight to meet us in Nanning without going back to the orphanage?
the foster family is also live in the orphanage,you will meet your son in Nanning.
9. Is Zhen Ao walking by himself ? What is his mobility/activity like? (He was born with clubbed feet and we have pictures of him standing but wonder how well he can walk/run on his deformed feet)
Yes,he can walk and run by himself,but walking and running with swing,they are worried about walking posture will be affected,the doctor said if the surgery is done,will reduce his pain and inconvenience.
10. Does he have favorite toys or activites?
toy cars(can move),likes to play outdoors,he is very happy when the foster father take him by taix.
11. Does he take a nap everyday?
Yes,usually more than 2 hours.
Ao Zai is more livily than last month,he knows how to walk with his feet,how to play with children.
