Last night was the perfect cap on a really good day. We enjoyed a birthday supper of RC's choosing--pork tenderloin sandwiches, skillet apples, and garlic smashed potatoes. AC was on a scout campout and we were invited to the campsite for an evening campfire and song session. The weather is FINALLY beginning to cool off here and we actually wore sweaters and enjoyed the warmth of the fire. The whole troup sang the birthday song to RC--he will join the Shark Patrol officially next week since he is now 11. After the campfire we hugged AC goodbye for the evening and headed home...(The only downer of the evening was when a hawk flew into our grill as we sped home through the dark night...) Will stopped at Starbucks so RC and I could get a coffee (I told you he was an old man) and then we headed home. Once there, I made MR some hot chocolate before bedtime.
That's when she announced that "Mama, you sure are good at your job!"
That's my kind of appreciation.
