Our summer is winding down and as it dwindles I find myself looking for things to do with the kids that don't involve a couch, TV, or computer screen. We are ALL burned out and ready for the routine that the school year brings. Summer is nice but as the director of Camp Mommy...I am ready for a break. So today we headed for the park to play and eat a picnic.
Now, most of the kids you see at the park are younger than my crew (the 3 older ones anyway) and MUCH tamer. We are a rowdy bunch. While LE marched around the picnic basket demanding a Little Debbie, RC was zooming around on his unicycle (which he has affectionately dubbed "Uniqua") scaring all of the preschoolers, and AC & MR were trying to kill eachother on the swing set. LE HATES the swing and won't stand for even ME sitting on a swing much less sitting on my lap on the swing.
All in all, we had a good, albeit short, time at the park. It was so hot that after an hour, the kids had talked me into going home and folding clothes while they watched TV. At least we were productive in our couch potato-ness...right? Cooler, too!
