After spending an incredible 5 days in Washington DC last week, we're back and in the swing. The weather was clear, bright, beautiful, and WINDY. We saw everything you can imagine from the Lincoln Memorial to The White House and everything in between. AC & I most enjoyed The Library of Congress(& the Gutenburg Bible), RC liked the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Arlington (who knew?), MR liked flying kites on The Mall, and LE liked the snacks!
OH! And we got to meet my dear friend Heather for the 1st time with her family in Chinatown. Her boys are a trip and Miss Maddie, of course, is a spunky little doll!
I thought all the kids would be so so excited about flying for the first time...but...air sickness can do a number on a body's ability to enjoy something. (Me included! yuk!)
We DID see the 1st lady leaving TWH and several Presidential motorcades. There happened to be an anti war demonstration on the mall and we were treated to some pretty freaky folks doing some crazy stuff to protest the war. To each his own, right? The kids thought it was "weird". (What can I say- they're Bush supporters ;0) )
Better run. Next post I will treat you to a picture of the dress LE wore to TWH (The White House)...there will be no question as to where our political alliances stand!
